PTC’s Creo (formerly known as

Pro/Engineer or Pro/E) is a suite of
programs that are used in the
design,
analysis, and manufacturing of
mechanical systems. One of these
programs, Creo Parametric, is a
robust
and versatile parametric solid-
modeling solution for product
development. An assortment of
supplementary modules exists for
managing tasks ranging from sheet
metal operations, piping layout,
mold design, wiring harness design
to NC (numerical controlled)

Introduction to Management Information System (MIS)

1.0 Introduction:
Management Information System (MIS) is a computer based system that helps managers to
manage and organize the organization easily in which it processes information through
computers. In order to be successful in your organization, MIS is a big help for a better planning
and decision.

MIS is the use of information technology, people, and business processes to record, store and
process data to produce information that decision makers can use to make day to day decisions.
The full form of MIS is Management Information Systems. The purpose of MIS is to extract data
from varied sources and derive insights that drive business growth

1.1 Objective:
The main objective of MIS is to

MIS focuses on the results and goals, and highlights the factors and reasons for non-
achievement.
MIS is oriented, defined and designed in terms of the user’s requirements and its
operational viability is ensured.

MIS concentrates on developing the information support to manage critical success factors. It
concentrates on the mission critical applications serving the needs of top management.

1.2 Elements of MIS:

To clearly understand the meaning of Management Information System (MIS), these explained
the three words which are :

 Management: It means about managing the organization, they are the one who makes
decision, plan, and control things or people to achieve the goals and objectives of the
organization.

 Information: Gathering information is very important in the company. Information

means a processing of data; it is worth because it affects behavior and decision that will
help the management about planning and making decisions for a success of their
organization.

 System: The system helps the information to process the data. System has an input,
output, and feedback that are working together to give a right details needed by the
management. .

1.3 Types of MIS:

There are types of Management Information System that made to enhance the communication
among y way.

 Decision Support System:It support decision making activities in the organization that
used by Senior Managers. Gathering information and exchanging of information within
the organization might efficiently help the management make business decisions quickly.

 Executive Information System: It found at the top of the pyramid which operated by
Executives. It monitors and support the information needed. In this type, you can easily
access to the internal and as well as the external information that is closely connected to
the organizational goals.

1.4 Conclusion:
Therefore, MIS are made for a speedy access to accurate data and to help the managers achieve
their goals. Management Information System (MIS) is so useful in the organization which it
creates an impact on the organization’s performance, functions, and ofcourse productivity. In an
organization, Managers has to take decisions and Management Information System (MIS) is a
good help to support them in making decision by providing information at various stage of
decision making.
