RESEARCH I

ORGANIZING DATA – is the arrangement of the physical records of the data set.
 Collected data must be organized in order to show significant characteristics.

Collected data can be presented in

1. Tabular form - where data are presented in rows and columns
- presentation of data in tabular form facilitates analysis between and among collected data since these data are
systematically arranged into rows and columns
- data in table are easy to easy to comprehend for many readers
- a more practical and convenient way in presenting data

A good table has the following parts (4 essential parts)

1. Table heading - includes the table number and the title
- The title should briefly explain the content of the table
2. Body – this is the main part of the table containing the data to be presented
3. Stub – this describes the data found in the rows of the table
4. Box head – this identifies what are contained in the column

Using the data of the activity on Bouncing Ball, identify the table heading, the body, the stub and the box head

Direction: Read and understand the activity below.

Mimi wanted to find out if adding moss (lumot) to sand would affect the ability to hold water. She put 100 mL of pure sand into
container A, a mixture of 80 mL sand and 20 mL moss in container B, 60 mL sand and 40 mL moss in container C, and 40 mL sand and 60 mL
moss in container D. She added the same amount of water to the setups and measured the amount of water that passed through. She repeated
the activity three times.

She got the following data:

Container A: Pure sand: Trial 1= 110 mL; Trial 2= 116 mL; Trial 3= 106 mL
Container B: 80% sand and 20% moss: Trial 1= 94 mL; Trial 2= 92 mL; Trial 3= 90 mL
Container C: 60% sand and 40% moss: Trial 1= 86mL; Trial 2= 88 mL; Trial 3 = 90mL
Container D: 40% sand and 60% moss: Trial 1= 70 mL; Trial 2= 78 mL; Trial 3 = 76mL
Put the data in table form.
