1. Why is staffing an important activity?


 Good staffing can help companies grow in the right direction. Staffing can help bring talented
professionals. Staffing agencies make recruitment easier. At the department level, managers look
for trust-worthy employees. Staffing helps in bringing the most suitable candidates for the
position. For smaller companies, staffing is important to have talented and good people to boost
their company in the initial stage. For bigger companies, staffing helps in collaborative teamwork
and hiring the right people will boost company performance. Staffing strategically and properly
can also help companies save money.
2. What activities are undertaken in staffing activities?
 Staffing process undertakes activities which are the human resource planning, recruitment, selection,
induction and orientation, training and development, performance appraisal, employment decisions
and separations.
3. What is the purpose of human resource planning?
 The main purpose of human resources planning is to ensure the best fit between employees and jobs,
while avoiding workforce shortages or spares. The three key elements of the HR planning process are
forecasting labor demand, analyzing present labor supply, and balancing projected labor demand and
supply.
4. How may human resource need to be determined?
 Human resources are need to be determined because it has three activities to be done and those
activities are forecasting, programming, and evaluation and control.
5. What are the possible sources of application for vacant position in the firm?
 The possible sources of application for vacant position in the firm are follows: the organization current
employees, newspaper advertising, schools, referrals for employees, recruitment firms, and he
competitors.
6. What is the implication of the cost of the wrong decision in the selection process?
 The cost of the “wrong decision”in the selection process simply implies the possible subsequent effect
tothe organization if the management picks the wrong person.
7. How may one determine the qualification of a job candidate?
 There are four ways of determining a job qualification candidate, these are application blanks,
references, interviews, and testing.
8. How may the types of tests be described?
 There are two types of test, the psychological test and the physical examination. Psychological test in a
standard measure of a sample behavior while physical test can be described as its given to assure that
the health of the applicant is adequate to meet the job requirement.
9. In induction, what activities are undertaken?
 The activities undertaken in induction is they provided a new employee with his necessary information
about the company. His duties, responsibilities, and benefits are relayed to him
10. How may the two general types of training be described?
 The training program for non-manager can only for a specific work depending on their skills and another
one is training and education program for executives can be described as he/she has a decision making
skill, interpersonal skills, job knowledge, and organizational knowledge.
