Project Scope Abstract: Client is requesting Regression Coefficients T-Tests to be run on multiple
geographies on a set of pre-defined independent variables against two to three years of daily sales.
Project Objectives: To determine which, if any, independent variables are statistically significant, so that
they can be used for sales forecasting models.
Product Description/Deliverables: Freelancer will provide multiple regression reports for pre-defined
geographies. Final reports must contain the following outputs for each independent variable tested:
Freelancer may use any statistical package of their choosing as long as the outputs above are included in
the final report.
Pre-assigned resources: Client will provide a flat .xls or .csv file to the Freelancer that contains two
worksheets:
Worksheet 1
• Field A: ~450 Store Numbers
• Field B: ~20 Geographies
• Field C: Business dates for past two to three years
• Field D: Daily sales for each day for each store
Worksheet 2
• ~80 Independent variables (columns)
• 363 Days of year (rows)
• “1” if variable should be included on that day, “0” if not (values)
Special Instructions: Freelancer must run T-Tests twice for each geography. After the first test is
complete, Freelancer will remove independent variables that are considered not statistically significant,
i.e., those variables (>5% p-value). Freelancer will then run a second regression that includes only the
remaining values.
Project Test to Award Job: Client will provide Freelancer with a sample file that contains one geography
with pre-assigned resources listed above. Freelancer will provide a report that contains the requested
outputs. If Freelancer satisfies client request, Freelancer will be awarded project.
Final Output: Freelancer will run regression coefficient T-Tests for 20 geographies two times. Stated
another way, the final output will contain 40 multiple regression reports in total (20 x 2).
Future Opportunities: If Freelancer successfully completes this project, Freelancer may be awarded a
project to apply these coefficients to a daily sales forecasting model.
