Topic: Communication Media

a. Communication media are the methods, means, or channels used to relay
messages from sender to receiver. Communication media denote the use of
verbal or nonverbal language in the communication process.
b. No one can communicate without the use of words. Media are used wherever
contact occurs. These means are transmission and storage tools or data storage
and transmission networks in telecommunications. As a result, communication
media are considered an essential component of the communication process.

B. Types of Communication Media or Methods of communication

a. The term "media of communication" refers to the methods or means of
transmitting messages from sender to recipient. The term "information media"

Verbal Communication:

When information is communicated using phrases, this is referred to as verbal

communication. There are two forms of verbal communication: written communication and
oral communication.

 Oral communication:
Something that comes from the mouth is referred to as oral. Conversations, phone
calls, interviews, lectures, and meetings are all examples of oral communication. The
primary use of language is in voice. Writing comes later. As a result, we prioritize oral
communication over written communication.

Forms of oral communication:

 Face-to-face conversation: Face-to-face communication is the most effective form of

oral communication. A face-to-face environment is possible in an interview or a small
meeting between two individuals or within a small group of people; contact can flow
both ways in these circumstances.

 Telephone: The voice is the only thing that matters when talking on the phone. It
lacks the benefit of physical presence. Clarity of speech and skillful use of one's voice
are important.

 Presentation: A presentation takes place in a face-to-face environment. It is a

structured and well-prepared presentation on a particular topic provided to an
informed and interested audience.

 Public speech: A public speech or lecture has a face-to-face atmosphere, but the gap
between the speaker and audience is great, increasing as the audience gets larger, as
in an open-air public meeting.

 Interview: An interview is a meeting where interviewers pose questions to an

interviewee. The aim is to evaluate and judge whether entering into a business
partnership with the other is worthwhile.

 Meeting: A meeting is usually attended by several people, and a leader or supervisor

tends to lead and maintain order.
Written Communication:

Written correspondence is any message that utilizes the written word. The most significant
and most powerful form of business communication is published.

Forms of Written Communication:

 Emails: According to Startupbizhub, the most popular type of written business

communication is email. To contact applicants for jobs or current employees, business
professionals also use emails.

 Proposals: Plan ideas are outlined in proposals. Some contractors and ad agencies
send proposals to corporations for programs or special assignments.

 Reports: Another type of written business correspondence is reports. The company

would advise workers using reports.

 Brochures: Product literature features your goods and services. Companies use
brochures to market goods, or to help with sales calls. Many different brochures are
produced by companies.
