Conduct a mini-research by choosing one of the following topics in SFL:

 Cohesion
 Nominal Group
 Nominalisation/ Grammatical Metaphor
 Interpersonal Meaning
 Speech Function
 Mood Elements
 Experiential Meaning
 Circumstantial Elements
 Textual Meaning
 Topical Theme
 Thematic Progression
 Clause Complexes
 Taxis
 Logico-semantic

Notes on the report:

 The research team consist of 3 students;
 The structure of the essay:
 Introduction  Give background information of the topic, introduce your topic, state the main
topic (the problem that you are going to discuss or to describe)
 Supporting theories  the theory to frame your analysis or your description
 Body  Analysis of the problem or description of a phenomenon. Include the theory in this
section in your discussion
 Conclusion  conclude the point of your discussion. If there is result of analysis, state the
result(s).
These four sections are written as subtitle respectively; can be named differently, especially in
the body section depending on the topic of your discussion.
 1700-2000 words (approximately 6-7 pages)
