Financial Accounting - Chapter 07 Customer Master Records
OBJECTIVE:
In order to simulate Boots-R-Us’ business processes, you will need to add several of their
customers to the system. The goal of the following exercises is to enable you to:
• Create Customer master records that will control how business transactions are
posted to a Customer Account.
• Learn how to create an Account Group and Number Range
• Create One-Time Customers
• Learn how to configure the Customer Master Record-Dual Control
The Account Group is a classifying feature within Customer master records. The Account
Group determines:

➢ Define Account Group with Screen Layout
3. Go back to the initial screen and double-click on <Company Code Data> and
incorporate the following field statuses:
Create a Number Range XX (USE YOUR INITIALS) that can be used with the new
Account Group XXCG. Make sure that it is set up as an internal number assignment
versus external number assignment.

➢ Create number ranges for customer accounts
Notes:
• Given the size of the class, please limit the size of the Number Range you create
to 500.
• Do not change the value in the Current Number field
Assign the Number Range XX created in Exercise 2 to the Customer Account Group XXCG
created in Exercise 1.

Now that you have configured the system with the Account Group and Number Range, you
will create several of Boots-R-Us’ customers.

The goal of this exercise is to create a customer master record for Boot World by copying
the master record information from an existing customer.

Use the menu path above to open the Create Customer: Initial Screen. Enter the following
information:
• Account Group:
XXCG – Enter group created in Exercise 1
• Customer Number:
Leave Blank – Externally assigned
• Company Code:
XXPH
Press <Enter>, update the name and address information, and <Save> your work

The goal of this exercise is to set the Dual Control settings for Customer Master Records.

Follow the menu path above. In the Change View "Sensitive Fields": Overview screen, make the
following entries:
Field #1: ADRC-Name1 (Name)
Field #2: KNB1-ZTERM (Payment Terms)
Note:
• This exercise is company code independent so a classmate on the same client may have
already configured the table. In this event, you may modify the table, but do not save any
changes that you make.
• If dual control is active then the system will require new master records to be validated in
addition to those that have been changed.
The goal of this exercise is to make a change to the sensitive fields in your Customer Master
record. In the next exercise, these changes will be validated

client, to validate your changes.

Enter the customer number for Athlete's Choice (previously Boot World) and update the
following fields in the General Data:Payment transactions tab:
• Allowed Payer: Select the button and enter the customer number for Sporting
World
Note: You can configure Alternate Payers at the Client and/or Company Code level.
Company Code settings will override Client settings. In this exercise, we will be using the
Client settings.
