Widespread disparities tin Pakistan

Regionalism and localism is advertised at the cost of integration and unity. Division on the base of
ethnicity, race, color, language, creed, sect and faction is very high. The ignored groups are at the core of
this divide. Their insecurities are genuine in general. There are extreme disparities in different regions
which are classic example of bourgeoisie and proletarian division. The epitome of this example is the
availability of potable water. There are areas in Islamabad where drinking water is not available to
people. They have to travel kilometers before getting some and that is the capital which is supposed to be
the model on which the country is to be built. Just imagine the disparities of the far-flung areas of
Baluchistan and erst-while FATA who are being ignored for the better part of our history. The situation of
southern Punjab and and rural Sindh is no different. The developments have been concentrated at the
central areas of the provinces and even more than that is some provinces were focused on more than
others.
