CHOIR PROFILE

Dasmariñas Chamber Singers (DCS) is a choir based in Dasmariñas Cavite composed of students
and young professionals from different vocations bonded by a common passion in
music. Founded in November 2015, the Choir aims to feature the best of Filipino Choral Artistry
while providing opportunities for its members to develop their talents. The Group consists of
around 20 active singers, performing a wide range of repertoire that spans from Classical,
Contemporary and Sacred scores to Folk, Secular and Popular music.

The Choir maintains an active schedule of singing engagements in prestigious festivals and other
event performances in various locations. In May 2017, DCS signed up as the newest member of
the Madz et al Family, the largest choir network in the country, organized by the world-renowned
Philippine Madrigal Singers (Madz).

In November 2017, DCS represented Dasmariñas Cavite and the Philippines in “A Voyage of
Songs” International Choral Festival held in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Under the direction of Madz
alumnus Mr. Deo Fortunato Cruz, the Group earned 3 Gold Certificates, 1 each for its performance
in the Mixed Choir, Chamber Choir and Folklore Categories.

In December 15-17, DCS embarked on a Goodwill concert tour in the Province of Apayao. The
Choir graced the town with short performances and courtesy calls in different municipalities and
held a full-house concert for the benefit of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church which was
received with thundering applause and standing ovation.

In July 1-4, 2018, DCS earned multiple citations in the Orientale Concentus International Choral
Festival held in Singapore. Under the direction of University of Sto. Tomas Singers (1995 & 2010
Choir of the World) Alumnus, Mr. Jayron Rezaba, DCS bested other Asian Choirs as it was awarded
as the Category winner in the Mixed Choir Category and garnered 2 additional Gold Diplomas in
Chamber and Folklore Categories. Among the 32 choirs from 10 different countries, DCS earned
a spot in the Top 7 Choirs who qualified for the Grand Prix competition.

DCS maintains an active calendar of singing engagements in weddings, various event guestings
and mass services. The Choir is also active in fulfilling its social responsibilities as it partners with
other organizations in conducting outreach activities for orphanages, homes for the aged and
other communities. The Group also holds workshops for church choirs that covers modules in
music theory and various vocal techniques.
