RELATED LITERATURE

According to Republic Act No. 10533, The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic
education that provides the students more time in mastering different concepts that develop their skills
and for them to be prepared in their graduation for tertiary education, middle-level skills development,
employment, and entrepreneurship. The additional two years which is the Senior High School is focused
on the specialized upper secondary education; students may choose a specialization based on aptitude,
interests, and school capacity. The choice of career track will define the content of the subjects a student
will take in Grades 11 and 12.

Stated in the Republic Act No. 10533, The K-12 Program has an addition in the basic education
curriculum. It consists of 4 tracks which are the Academic track, Sports Track, Arts Track and Tech-Voc
Track. Under Academic track there are four strands which are the STEM, GAS, HUMMS and ABM. The
ABM Strand refers to the Accountancy, Business, and Management academic programs that concentrate
on the foundational concepts in corporate operations, financial management, and business management
that can help the students in improving and cultivating their entrepreneurial skills.

The importance of entrepreneurship in terms of economic growth and employment is acquiring


entrepreneurship skills are the best opportunity for every student who wants to become an entrepreneur
or business man someday. It is important because it can benefit every individual’s life. That’s why
entrepreneurship education is included in the school curriculum for the students to create a job for
themselves (Ramos, 2014)

Entrepreneurial education in the formal education has become entire exertion. They need to address
the entrepreneurial skills at early age to identify the vital light of economic and social development. (E.g.
Wissensatlas, 2015, Stifterverband, 2014)

According to David and Hamburg 2017, In Entrepreneurial skills it is essential to never underestimate
your ability to become different and to enhance yourself. It aims to create awareness to entrepreneurial
skills and to provide instruction to the personal development.

There are five teaching approaches that encourage active learning, provide team-based case studies
and project-based courses that use science-rich issues to push learners out of their comfort zone and into
the active development of entrepreneurial abilities. They have noted that learners who learn these early-
stage entrepreneurial abilities are more likely to push the subsequent phases of the entrepreneurial cycle
(Elgar, 2009).

The personal and interpersonal competencies of people are connected to entrepreneurial skills that can
be expressed by their behavior. And in other textbook of entrepreneurial series, the focus of
entrepreneurship and small business are the management skills and business knowledge (Zeelie et
al.,2007).
