:Responsibilities
Head teachers must see that appropriate First Aid provision is made for their staff. This
provision will usually be arranged by the school's doctor in each school or in conjunction
.with senior members of staff
Head teachers will, in most cases, also need to provide First Aid cover for parents and
.visitors
Staff are responsible for informing First Aiders of incidents that require support. Staff that
are present should ensure students are moved away from the casualty. This can be any
.member of staff
We hold annual training courses for all staff and teachers in the field of first aid and fire drill
.as well
:First Aid kits
:The following list is a suggestion for general and low-risk environments
A leaflet giving general guidance on First Aid (for example, HSE’s leaflet Basic Advice
on First Aid at school).
Individually wrapped sterile plasters (assorted sizes), appropriate to the type of work
(hypoallergenic plasters can be provided if necessary).
Sterile eye pads
Individually wrapped triangular bandages, preferably sterile
Safety pins
Large sterile individually wrapped un-medicated wound dressings
Medium sized sterile individually wrapped un-medicated wound dressings
Disposable gloves
:First Aid rooms
.We have one designated First Aid room which is located on the ground floor admin corridor
The student/staff member must stay in the isolation room until the competent
authorities arrive to take him
Call ambulance immediately – tell the call handler if the patient has any COVID-19
symptoms
Ask for help, if a portable defibrillator is available, ask for it
Before starting CPR, to minimize transmission risk, use a cloth or towel to cover the
patient’s mouth and nose, while still permitting breathing to restart following
successful resuscitation
If available, use:
o A fluid-repellent surgical mask
o Disposable gloves
o Eye protection
o Apron or other suitable covering
Only deliver CPR by chest compressions and use a defibrillator (if available) – don’t
do rescue breaths
Prevent worsening, promote recovery: all other injuries or illnesses
If you suspect a serious illness or injury, call ambulance immediately – tell the call
handler if the patient has any Covid-19 symptoms
If giving First Aid to someone, you should use the following, if available:
o A fluid-repellent surgical mask
o Disposable gloves
o Eye protection
o Apron or other suitable covering
You should minimize the time you share a breathing zone with the casualty and direct
them to do things for you where possible
After delivering any First Aid
Ensure you safely discard disposable items and clean reusable ones thoroughly
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer as
soon as possible

Listen carefully to instructions
Leave the class room/theater/science lab/or library, or toilet with supervisor or teacher
In case of the exam( leave the exam's papers on desks)
Quietly and quickly line up
Walk carefully and calmly out of the exam's rooms/hall through Exit doors with your
teacher/supervisor to your designated safety area out of the school
Stay with your teacher/supervisor all time
Wait with your teacher/supervisor until it's safe to go back to your classroom or home
depending on the situation

Listen carefully to instructions
Leave the class room/theater/science lab/or library, or toilet with the supervisor or
teacher
In case of the exam (leave the exam's papers on desks)
Quietly and quickly line up
Walk carefully and calmly out of the exam's rooms/hall through Exit doors with your
teacher/supervisor to the underground which is safe
Stay with your teacher/supervisor all time
Wait with your teacher/supervisor until it's safe to go back to your classroom or home
depending on the situation
