Running head: PERT MUSTANG CASE STUDY 2

Introduction

The goal here is to create an objective report for RASAS owner, Vicky Roberts. The

report must be about the restoration of the vintage Mustang car model and being able to restore it

to a premium level, rather restoring it to a standard or basic restoration. Doing so can help raise

the value of the car itself and help it run better down the road. The objective will be translated

into sales so it can help with sales and creating new advertisement strategies. Doing so will make

the Mustang the main display at the car show event in Detroit. The whole point of doing this will

be the introduction of the new car restoration business and attracting new and existing customers

m
er as
to help restore their vehicles to a premium level. All these goals listed above must be met within

co
eH w
a 45-day time frame. Finishing the project on time will help save project costs. Also, finishing on

o.
time will look great in front of new and existing customers.

Competitive Priorities

The first thing that is needed to be done is to execute 22 relevant activities that need to be
o
aC s

started right away in order to complete the objective in a timely manner. That is why the project
vi y re

will need to list down in a table form so it can properly represent the accurate information for

illustrations and clarity. The relationship between activities can be broken down into which
ed d
ar stu

deserve more priority. To help improve the objective at hand it will be best to recognize the

activities that need to be completed within the 45-day window. Decisions that will be made down
is

the line will be based off the network diagram that has been constructed.
Th

However, RASAS will need to initially analyze the decision whether the new business in

restoration of vintage cars seems something that will be profitable and successful. While this
sh

decision is being made its best to take into consideration that RASAS is already well-known in

the market like for auto parts, autobody, auto storage, auto repair, and other businesses to do with

the auto world.

Project Activities

Here the general aim is to present the vehicle in the same or better condition than it was

before. The issues would be resolved in time. Status of each risk to project delays should eb

provided in the risk management plan. This new project will bring about an innovation in the

market bringing back memories alive for customers as well as investors and competitors. For

competitors such project is difficult to imitate. The company would gain monopoly in producing

m
such product. All activities would be clearly monitored in the restoration process and due actions

er as
co
would be taken to complete the project on time and within budget.

Budget

Total project cost= $18100 so it does not exceed the budget of 70000-5000=$20000. The
ed d

project does not require more than $3600 in any week. While applying the network diagram, I
ar stu

discovered that the project could reach completion within 41 days, allowing for the budget to be
is

met with room to spare. The total cost of the project amounted to $18,100, although the weekly
Th

budget will be exceeded by $3,600 during week 2; with the 4 spare days you have in your 45

working day time period, it can be easily avoided using those extra days. This will allow for a
sh

good opportunity for press to create large public relations connections, I would advise you take

this opportunity and implement it. If still the problem, persist the company should consider using

new old stock parts that were manufactures during the same period as of the car and has not yet

been used. They seem worthless to anyone but for the company these are the most valuable items

which cost less. You may consider another model of the car from the same year which is in poor

conditions for the parts to be used.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, if all objectives are met to guidelines then there should be no

problem in being able to start a successful classic car restoration business. The company just

needs to make sure to plan and manage their resources carefully. This way they aren’t burning

through their money and be able to get every worth from every dollar they spend. They should

m
er as
also consider monitoring schedules for their activities and costs. This will help them save time,

co

which always saves money. Being able to monitor the money they spend will make sure that

o.
every dollar is spent correctly and not wasted. Being able to monitor schedules activities well
rs e
ou urc
also help the restoration business self-sufficient while trying to complete the main objective.

Doing all of this will lead to RASAS to display their car at the Detroit show within the required

timeline and within the budget.
