PDPP TESL PRACTICUM

LESSON REFLECTION WEEK 4

BY: SITI NORFAQIHAH BINTI NASRUDIN

As usual, the English PdPR lesson was carried out through Telegram Channel. I
prepared 3 videos for my students and they had to watch the videos in order to complete
their tasks. As I mentioned previously, I prepared a module for my students before the
school holiday. Therefore, I prepared videos that correlated with the activities in the
module based on the targeted skills.

However, my students’ responses were not really impressive. At the beginning of the
session, only 9 out of 28 students submitted their tasks. It was very frustrating. Thirty
minutes before my lesson ended, I texted each and everyone of my students to respond to
my PdPR session and luckily most of them turned in their exercises. Their poor contribution
in the PdPR session was probably due to demotivation towards learning English.

In order to rectify this problem, I will conduct a Google Meet session with my
students. Interactive visual learning aids, games and informative video will help to attract
their attention. Therefore, I am planning and looking forward to our first Google Meet
session. I will also look out for suitable instructional language to suit each level of students’
proficiency. The same goes with the lesson delivery, online classroom instructions, time
allocation and assessment tools.
