PDPP TESL PRACTICUM

LESSON REFLECTION WEEK 3

BY: SITI NORFAQIHAH BINTI NASRUDIN

Today’s lesson focuses on reading and writing. Since the content is about celebration, I
received pleasant responses and feedback from my students. They were eager to share
about their Hari Raya celebration. 18 out of 28 students watched my PdPR videos and
responded accordingly.

For reading activity, students gained new knowledge about other celebrations in
foreign countries, The Notting Hill celebration. All of the attendees were able to achieve the
objective of the main skill. They were able to demonstrate that they understand the text by
guessing the meaning of several words based on the clues provided in the text.

For writing activities, several of them were able to write sentences using appropriate
conjunction. I think they were not clear on how to use conjunctions when they were
describing their Hari Raya celebration. Therefore, I asked my students to re-typed their
description about Hari Raya celebration in the comment section and I corrected them
immediately. Of course, more drills needed to enhance their writing skills. In my next
lesson, I will pay attention to this issue.

My students showed impressive participation during the PdPR lesson. I guess they
are used to online learning and they can adapt well. I received a request from parents to
post classroom instructions in Malay Language because most of them couldn't understand
the instruction. However, I am not able to fulfill the request but I will try to use simple
sentences in my instructions. Overall, I am satisfied with my lesson but I have to rectify a
few mistakes especially in terms of classroom instructions and management.
