A SUMMERY BY
AAGAM JAIN
in this documentary a Canadian photographer,
filmmaker and conservationist Rob Stewart who visit
Costa Rica after 15 year and exposed a multi-billion
dollar industry of killing sharks

shark finning which was banned in 2000 but still in

West Africa, Spain, Panama, Costa Rica, France its
done. With just some permission shark finning can
be easily done in costa rica
These shark fin is commonly used in making
famous chinese shark fin soup. Shark Fin Soup is
a traditional soup or stewed dish found in
Chinese cuisine.

If killing sharks is ban from where 100 – 150

million sharks are killed every year, but only
about half of them are reported, including
endangered species. Shark populations have
dropped more than 90% in the last 40 years

sharks play an important role in the ecosystem

by maintaining the species below them in the
food chain and serving as an indicator for ocean
health but in few decades its possible that shake
will extinct
this city in costa rica, ponterenas where almost all
harbour a bought by taiwanese mafia and every
day there are thousands of boats hunting sharks
fins the just take the shark to there boat cut there
fins and throw them back in the water to die and
this is happening everyday the mafia running this
trade is very rich and dangerous

the price of these shark fins are so expensive even

one pound of shark fin cost about 300 dollars
every week one boat bring a ton of sharks they are
dried and then sold to singapore taiwan china

we must be thinking that removing sharks does not

matter but it does its a part of our ecosystem
removing them will break the ecosystem

in panama its not just the fin soup now shark are
also killed to feed us. Sharks are very very toxic its
fins are as toxic as lead and mercury

and this is happening in africa and france also

its just so sad to hear that for money people
can do anything even kill others killing sharks
shows we can do anything for money this
documentary shows/exposed the shark killing in
costa rica france and africa that gives us
information what is happening with our
ecosystem here all we can do is not buying
product made up of shark skin and try to report
this shark finning if we see it anywhere because
it was banned 21 years ago but still its
happening this really impacted my life as from
now i pledge to never use shark products
always report if shark finning is seen and never
throw garbage in water bodies because its the
home of aquatic world

so according to my opinion i would give this 8

out of 10 because they tried to stop shark
finning in panama but due to some legal
problems they had to leave panama as soon as
possible here i will not accuse the team but i
was very disappointed of panama law in short
its a worth watching documentary
