It’s been too long since our last

newsletter and I apologize. It’s not an excuse, but
we’ve been a tad busy and time flew by.

We’ve been able to have a little more freedom

since the initial lockdowns. Jennifer, has been given
permission to restart the women's Bible study at the
prison, our Saturday kids Bible study and food
program started back up in May and a new Bible
study for Venezuelans has started in our house on
Friday afternoon. Travel to the jungle has become a
little easier, so we’ve been able to hand out more
Bibles and talk with more people. We have an
opportunity to start another program in an area that
was hit very hard by the virus. Many of the men died
and there’s much need there.
Even though much has opened back up, the
problems from the lockdown have been devastating,
many Jobs have disappeared and probably won’t
return for years. It has gotten worse as far as people
have no money to buy sufficient food, pay rent, buy
medicines, have urgent medical care. They say
medical procedures are free but, everyone has to
supply all meds, bed covers, IV’s, and everything else
needed for the procedures which is impossible for
some. We are so grateful to you for helping us
provide for these needs.
We’ve delivered food to the homes of 193
families (around 500 people) weekly. You have helped
provide surgery for cancer, gallbladder, 2 appendices,
complications with births, spine and leg surgery from
a car accident, and many other issues. In addition,
your support has helped pay rent for so many so
that they are not on the streets.
We are contacted almost daily by someone
new needing help. We pray about how to handle
the physical needs and so far the Lord has
supplied, through you, what we need. You have
not only helped with these physical needs, you’ve
also helped with their Spiritual needs. People can’t
understand why Christians from the states would
help. They want to know why? and we’ve had
several give their lives to Christ. This is truly the
body of Christ working together to change the
world.

foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I
was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took
Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited
Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Then the righteous will
answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed
You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger
and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You
sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and
say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of
the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” —Matthew
25:34–40

We humbly thank you for your continued prayers and

financial support. If you haven’t yet, we ask that you would
prayerfully consider financially supporting this ministry in
Peru. Without more financial partners this ministry can not
continue to grow. We love you all and thank you for being part
of God’s work in Peru.
 Transforming Physical Needs into God’s Victory

We have hundreds of Venezuelan refugees in our feeding program

now. We’ve built some very close relationships with many. A lot of
them come from very successful backgrounds such as engineers,
teachers, lawyers and so on. Almost all of them are trying to survive by
selling candy and cleaning car windows on the streets. Among them we
have a group of professional basketball players
who were very successful in their country. One
of them, who’s name is Reimer, gave his life to
Christ last October and has wanted his wife,
Yisbely, to experience the same thing. She’s so
sweet and always worrying about us, even
though it should be the other way around. She
makes sure our birthdays and other special days
are not forgotten. She started coming to our
Bible study and has announced that she wants to
follow Jesus. Her husband is very excited as are
we.
Even though covid19 has been so devastating to Peru and around
the world, good has come from it. We’ve tried for some time to get
into the Venezuelan community before Covid with no luck. They are
not treated very well from the locals and came from an awful situation
in Venezuela, so they’re very hesitant to open up to strangers. The
pandemic has opened doors into this community that otherwise would
not be open for us.
Helping meet physical needs truly does open doors for spiritual
needs. Usually, when Jesus was approached by people in need, He met
their physical needs and many times this was through healing and
feeding people that were hungry. Please pray for our new brother and
sister in Christ, Reimer and Yisbely.
