Happy New Year!

It’s past time to touch base with all of you.

we were put in contact with a family in need. The
mother, her daughter and handicapped son had no
food. We bought a little food and dropped it off late
at night because we were heading back to Huancayo
early the next morning. They surprised me when they
sent us a video the same night thanking us. People
continue to be amazed that Christians will help even
when you don’t know them.
As a lot of you know, we opened a restaurant-

Surviving
I want to tell you about Ara, Andrea, Christian and Crisbel. They are Venezuelans who fled to Peru.
Ara is the 49 year old mom, Andrea is her 32 year old daughter and Christian(12) and Crisbal(6) are her
grandchildren. Ara already had a daughter Francelli and her 3 daughters in Peru. Francelli told her mother
and sister that they would be safe in Peru and that the missionaries here would help them:))) Ara had a job
in her country and Andrea worked for the government. Things became so bad that the police were
shooting people when they were outside at times not allowed. The prices and scarcity of food, meds,
water and so on became dire. They could not feed their children and they did not have clean drinking
water. They decided to start the journey to Peru. This included a very dangerous trek through Columbia
and Ecuador before reaching Peru. They had a person that guided them through rivers and the jungles of
Columbia. They were told to hold there kids very tight because others would yank them away and take
them. Christian turned 12 years old in the Columbian jungle. Andrea said she was so afraid, while traveling
but, more afraid in her home country. They arrived in Huancayo on September 12, 2022. This was the first
time they saw Francelli in 5 years. The grandchildren in Peru didn’t know their Grandmother and Aunt. We
helped find them a very small place to rent. There are 2 bedrooms for 8 people and they are so happy to
have it. Things are not great in Peru. People are struggling to survive. They get taken advantage of, they
don’t get paid a lot of times and if the do get paid many are earning around 70 cents an hour. Ara and
Andrea are working for us now at the restaurant. They both said they couldn’t be happier. They worked
with the country of Peru and have all their legal documents and are very proud of this. They know they
have a long road ahead but they say they have a future because all the people in the states that are
helping.
Acts 4:32

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own,
but they shared everything they had.”
Jennifer, Katherine and I can’t thank you enough for helping us on this journey in Peru.
