The Marcum Family/Ministry News

May 2015
Dear Friends & Family,
Just recently we learned that missions leaders who have been studying the rise of 24/7 prayer over
the past 30 years have found that in 1985 there were about 25 known ministries worldwide that were
operating a 24-hr prayer ministry for their region/country/city. That number has grown now to over
10,000! In so many places, incense is rising and the Bride is crying out in unison with the Spirit,
Come, Lord Jesus! This is one of the signs that our Lord is returning soon, and His church is
obediently responding to His most often repeated instruction to us regarding the time of His return
Watch and Pray. Thank you for partnering with our family so we can keep the fires of night & day
prayer burning bright here in the heartland of our nation! - Love, The Marcums

What a great privilege!

As most of you know for the past 9 months we have been leading a discipleship group of 12 students who are attending
International House of Prayer University. It has been such an honor and privilege to get to know these students and to be
leaders in their lives. Five of our students will graduate next Saturday and go on to the next steps the Lord has for them.
They are going to varous mission fields to serve: Lesley is going to Fredericksburg, VA (the D.C. area), Donovan and his
wife Natalie are going to Brazil, Joshua and his wife Sarah are deciding whether to return to New Zealand where they did
their ministry externship, one of our other Joshuas (we have 3 in our group!) is heading out on tour with YWAMs Impact
World Tour, and Sarah and her husband Ben are for the time being staying to serve the Missions Base here at IHOPKC,
serving in the media dept, the ANPR, and in our Korean ministries. Here are a few pictures from the past school year!

WE LOVE THESE YOUNG PEOPLE!!! We look forward to seeing some of them next
year! And those who are graduating, we will miss you go and be who God called you to be!

The Lord is Reconnecting

We were so overjoyed to reconnect recently with Steve & Janie Garrison, coworship leaders with us at a church in Joplin many years ago. After having
faithfully been watching the Global Prayer Room and worshiping and praying
along with us for quite some time, they were able to make their first visit to
IHOPKC. Steve has contacted me since returning to Knoxville asking for help
& resources as they are seeking the Lord about beginning a prayer room
ministry at their church!

ONE THING REGIONAL, TWIN CITIES, MN Joys report

Hi everyone! There were 50 of us that went to St. Paul, MN to serve in a week
of 24/7 prayer & worship which gathered over 30 ministries from the region
together in unified prayer. We paired the week of prayer with a week of
evangelism in the Twin Cities where we had outreaches every day, mostly to the
poorer neighborhoods & districts. I got to lead worship in the prayer room during
the week, and also led worship at a regional youth event on Wednesday. We
ended the week with a weekend OneThing Regional conference, which ended up
being the largest of the Regionals. The day before the conference began, we were
able to gather many church, house of prayer, and ministry leaders from not only Minnesota but from other states and served
them a luncheon. Then we led prayer & worship for them and we all had prayer over them and sang over them (thats me
singing over the leaders in the picture!). There is strategizing among these leaders on how to sustain unified prayer in their
regions. During the conference, we staffed a Prophetic Ministry Room and ministered to hundreds of people, bringing
refreshing and encouragement from the Lord to many. Once the conference began, I got to sing & lead worship with Justin
Rizzos team, and I helped teach a breakout session on prophetic worship. I love to see how God is building His house of
prayer all across our nation and to see how He is stirring His bride to seek Him in the place of prayer and worship! -Joy

TOUCHING BRAZIL with SAFE FAMILIES!

by Melissa
I have had a lot of fun recently during some of my Safe Families work hours! Our director, Danny Lima, and his wife
Jessica made a trip to Brazil last month to help train a group of musicians and prayer warriors there on starting a house of
prayer in their church. Dannys heritage is Brazilian and though he has lived his life in the USA, he has a true pastors heart
for the people of Brazil. He began to build his proficiency in Portuguese last year in preparation to join a large mission team
to spend 6 weeks in Brazil before and during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This effort was known as Liberdade which
translates as Freedom and it focused on the rescue of women and children trapped in human trafficking. Watch a stirring
video about the Liberdade outreach at: www.exoduscry.com/liberdade/ (scroll down to video under Stories from the Field).
The fun I had was that I was part of a team of ladies that took turns caring for the Lima children while their parents
were gone. I stayed at their house for three days and it brought back many memories of times gone by with 5 little
munchkins running around! We had a great time together, but the most fun thing we did was go to the zoo! It was our first
trip there this year and I recruited some help from Jessianna, Joy and Joshua. The Limas trip to Brazil was also for Safe
Families. You might remember me mentioning that we were recently able to meet with Dave Anderson, the founder of Safe
Families for Children. At that meeting, he asked Danny to help develop a program for Safe Families to work in Brazil. So,
part of this most recent trip was dedicated to that purpose. There are millions of families around the world in crisis, and
there are millions of churches around the world ready to help those families. We want to be a part of helping and facilitating
the joining of those two realities! Pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified (2 Thess. 3:1).

FINAL WORD: Those looking for part 2 of the article from last month, sorry we ran out of room this time! Hope to
print it in next months newsletter. Thanks again everyone for staying in touch and for your partnership, it means so
much! We would appreciate prayers as we will be leaving for a 2-week trip to Indiana, Kentucky, and the Carolinas,
on May 20-June 4. Until next time, bless you all, were praying for you!

Because He is worthy of it all,
