E Field Antenna Probes (Single Probe Solution)

E-AP-Ez
E-AP-Ex/Ey/Ez
E-AP-KIT
APREL Laboratories antenna probes utilize
a scientifically developed sensor
arrangement which allows for high
sensitivity and directivity detection of
electric fields.

Infinitely small elements within the

probes are designed to allow the user to
detect electric (E) fields emitted by Radio
Frequency sources including integrated
circuits. The probe is designed to be
connected to the APREL EM-ISight. A
separate LNA (Low Noise Amplifier)
allows for greater sensitivity and can be
connected between the probe and EM-
ISight to increase the dynamic range.

The E Field antenna probes have been

fully characterized and assessed for
sensitivity in air from 10kHz up to 6GHz. Characterization is done through numerical
modeling and physical quantification of the values through experimental analysis and
validated during calibration.

The probe has a standard SMA interface and comes in an Ez or Ex/Ey/Ez package. The
probes can be purchased separately or as a package both of which have the same form
factor. When ordering the user must specify which probe model they require.

Factors

The typical response for the probes when calibrated is presented in the plot below and can
be used as a reference for determining the probe coupling factor (antenna factor) which
relates to the probe at a specific distance and frequency. Probes can be calibrated to specific
frequencies as specified by the user at an extra cost.
