Symptom
Updating SAP Fiori UI components does not invalidate the browser cache.

Reason and Prerequisites

You are using SAP Fiori launchpad on SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP with UI Add-On for SAP Netweaver SP07 or the corresponding SAP_UI 
component for SAP NetWeaver (SAPUI5 version 1.18) and above.

Updating SAP Fiori UI components to a newer SP or patch version does not invalidate the browser cache.

As a result, you might experience inconsistent or erratic application behavior, such as a completely white screen.

Solution
Option 1 (recommended): implement cache busting for SAP Fiori launchpad and embedded SAP Fiori applications

You have to install UI Add-on 1.0 for SAP Netweaver SP11 or higher or the SAP_UI Component SP11 or higher for SAP Netweaver 7.4 (SAPUI5 
version 1.26 or higher). This version provides a mechanism for invalidating resources in the browser cache ("cache buster").

l Cache Buster for SAP Fiori in SAP Fiori launchpad for UI Technologies SP12 (UI Add-on 1.0 SP12) - SAPUI5 version 1.28

Please note that this option is not applicable for SAP Fiori applications based on the SAP Fiori wave 1 architecture.

Option 2: customize the cache lifetime for SAPUI5 resources

This option does not invalidate the browser cache, but allows to to customize the cache life time according to your software update processes. This
option is applicable for all SAPUI5 based applications and can also be implemented on older versions than UI Technologies SP11. Please refer to 
SAP Note 2075016 for details.
