Steadfast on the Word of God

 Introduction
Decadence is a word that defines the present society.

o Shootings

Shootings have happened in schools, food places, car

wash places and even in churches.

o Weird marriages

Amanda Liberty, 33, from Leeds, has embarked on an

open relationship with her chandeliers, and is now
'engaged' to a 70cm wide chandelier named Lumiere,
after spotting it on eBay 12 months ago.

 An Italian woman has married herself in a ceremony
complete with white dress, three-layer wedding cake,
bridesmaids and 70 guests.

o LGBT Movement

The decadence is so big that has reached the church.

- There are churches allowing these things.

- There is a debate between Christian Counseling vs
Bible Counseling

In the midst of this huge decadence we, as sons and

daughter of God have been called to Steadfast on the
Word of God

When we Steadfast on the Word of God

 We cannot be Ashamed
“16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it
is the power of God to salvation for everyone who
believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
Romans 1:16

 The Word of God is nothing to be ashamed of. It is
always true and is worth die for. That is why many
prophets, disciples and Jesus Christ Himself were willing
to lay down their lives. Are we? Am I? Are you?

We can Steadfast on the Word of God because

 It is God’s Inspiration and it is useful
“16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God
may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good
work.”
2 Timothy 2:16-17
Christians have tried to use psychology, sciences, and
other methodologies instead of the Bible. That’s why
there are debates between Christian Counseling and
Bible Counseling

“105 Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105
When we are Steadfast on the Word of God we can
 Be courageous and accomplish your task
I don’t know what task the Lord has given you, but I do
know that you have one. It doesn’t matter how big it is.

 What it matters is that you accomplished it, because
accomplishing it will help to the global task. The Lord
said to Joshua:

“6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people

you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I
swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong
and very courageous, that you may observe to do
according to all the law which Moses My servant
commanded you; do not turn from it to the right
hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever
you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart
from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it
day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written in it. For then
you will make your way prosperous, and then you
will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded
you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be
afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is
with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:6-9
Today, this words are you and for me. Let’s take
possession of the land that the Lord has given us.

  Conclusion
Perhaps the circumstances won’t change, but that is not
a problem. We are in the side of the Lord Almighty.

We have sung a song that said this:

“We know we were made for so much more than ordinary

lives. It’s time for us to more than just survive. We were
made to thrive.”
“Joy Unspeakable, Faith Unsinkable, Love Unstoppable,
Anything is possible.”

So, we have to Steadfast on the Word of God. That is not

set of rules to follow. That is not a set prayer to pray.
That is life to live. And it’s not an ordinary life; it is the
Life of Christ Himself living through us. As Paul said:

“21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Philippians 1

Let’s be courageous and Steadfast on the

Word of God.
