7 tips to be a better student

When we start college, many things change in our lives. One of them, which is usually
implicit due to the change from one level to another, is that we try to be more mature
and take our studies a little more seriously, because every semester we will gain new
information that we will eventually apply in our profession; so it is necessary to learn
from our past mistakes and be more diligent in our studies. The question is: How can we
improve our grades to achieve our goals? Here are 7 tips that will help you become a
better student.

1)Attend all your classes.

Most teachers take attendance into account for grading. Consistency in your attendance can
really help your final grade. Plus, this way, you'll always have your grades complete and be on
track.

2)Don't drop everything on the spot.

Prepare any assignment ahead of time. Organize your time, make planning outlines for each
project. It is better to plan everything, instead of staying up all night and not resting. Another
benefit is that, if you plan each task or project, they can be of better quality than if you do them
on the spot.

3)Stay away from social networks and media when you

work.
Has it happened to you that you are doing your homework and you get distracted by Facebook
or WhatsApp? The best thing is when you do your homework or study for your exam, do not
enter your social pages. You will be more concentrated and you will be able to dedicate the
necessary time to your studies.

4)Take notes.
It is always good to have a backup of what you see in class. This can help you a lot in your
exams. Another good thing is that it allows you to prioritize the most important information. It
helps your mind a bit!

5)Ask your professors questions. It often happens that we are not clear about a
subject and for embarrassment we do not ask or clarify our doubts. It is very important that
everything is clear and that you are not left with doubts that you cannot solve in the future. Ask
at the moment or, if you do not feel comfortable in front of your classmates, talk to your
teacher after class.
6)Don't get stuck with superficial information. If one of your assignments
requires research, don't stick to one source of information. Look in a variety of books and
websites. The more information you have, the more likely you are to understand the topic
accurately.

7)Be organized. If you have your notes and assignments organized, you will have more
time to study during exam time. On the other hand, keep an agenda in which you can write
down assignments, projects, presentations, exams, etc. This will help you know what you are
doing and when you need time to do it.
