Material balance on multiple units

Make an excel sheet for the following process which includes a multi evaporators to
produce pure water from saline water or seawater. The aim of this problem is to solve
for the unknowns and to make a program for the process where it can provide a
.solution whenever you change any of the variables (in green colour)

Over all degree of freedom = number of unknows – number of independent equations

the problem can be solved 0=2-2

:Over all material balance to find F using NaCl mass fraction

The general formula: input - output + generation – consumption = accumulation

:Since the process is nonreactive and steady state we have the simple form

Input = Output

degree of freedom= number of unknown – number of independent equation

DF= 4 (F, V1 , V2 , V3) – 2 = 2

Over all mass balance to find F by using NaCl composition:

Ibm
( 0.25 ) F=(0.97) 14760
hr

14229.9 Ibm
F= =56919.6
0.25 hr

DF= 2( V1 , P1) – 2=0

Balance in unite 1 to find P1 by using NaCl composition:

Ibm
( 0.25 ) ×56919.6 =(0.33) P1
hr

14229.9 Ibm
P 1= =43120.9
0.33 hr

Balance in unite 1 to find V1:

F=V 1 + P1

Ibm
V 1=F−P1=56919.6−43120.9=13798.7
hr

DF= 2 (V2 , P2) – 2 = 0

Balance in unite 2 to find P2 by using NaCl composition:

( 0.33 ) P1=(0.5)P2

( 0.33 ) × 43120.9 Ibm

P 2= =28459.79
0.5 hr

Balance in unite 2 to find V2:

P1=V 2 + P2

Ibm
V 2=P1−P 2=43120.9−28459.97=14660.93
hr

DF= 1 ( V3) – 2= -1

Balance in unite 3 to find V3:

P2=V 3 + P3

V Ibm
3=¿ P2−P3 =28459.79 −14670 =13789.79 ¿
