CRS System
COMMON RAIL SYSTEM
This is an Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) System which has a high pressure inline pump with
electronic fuel metering, common rail, set of sensors, ECU and injectors. Fuel from the pump is
sent to Common Rail and from there to all the injectors. Upon receiving the signal from ECU, the
injector needle lifts and delivers fuel as per firing order.

AIR BLEEDING PROCEDURE FOR CB18 PUMP FUEL SYSTEM

*First Ensure Sufficient Diesel available in Diesel tank before
carrying out below Air Bleeding Procedure
1. Loosen Air Bleed Screw 1 fitted on Main Filter and do
hand priming till Air bubbles stop from Bleeding Screw
Air Bleed Screw 1 Air Bleed Screw 2
1. Then tighten the air bleed screw 1. (Refer Fig.1).
on Main filter on CB18 HPP
2. Loosen Air Bleed Screw 2 fitted on high pressure
pump and do hand priming till air bubbles stop from
bleeding Screw 2. Then tighten the Air Bleed Screw 2
(Refer Fig.2).
*Do Not carry out Air Bleeding Procedure @ High Pressure

19 SCR
SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION
This is (Exhaust gas) after treatment system. Adblue is injected into SCR housing pipe. By chemical
reaction ammonia is formed in the catalyst housing. Ammonia reacts with NOx in Exhaust gas
at SCR housing, and reduces NOx level. This has set of sensors, ACU and set of actuators. ACU
controls adblue (Aqueous urea solution – AUS32) injection. Adblue will be consumed in operation
and it is to be refilled periodically. With SCR, emission levels of BS-IV can be met.

EGR 30
EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION
In EGR Engines, metered quantity (controlled by ECU) of Exhaust gas after cooling is re-circulated
back to the Engine cylinders. As the EGR reduces the air (oxygen) intake, it controls the pollutant
NOx (oxides of Nitrogen) . With EGR, emission levels of BSIII and BS-IV can be met.

 Lower cost
 Lower weight of total system
 Less maintenance

interchange the CB18/CB28 injectors which adversely ‘H’ Bridge ECU
affects engine performance • Current EDC 17 with Non EGR (SCR,
