ABOUT THE PLAY:
The play begins with enchanting the hymns for our mother nature and its gallant heroes. It
circumvents around how our environment has been gradually deteriorated by various human
activities. It begins on a lighter note, focussing primarily on how the nature and its various resources
and the people themselves, have been gravely affected by uncontrolled intervention by humans.

The next scene brings a tinge of poetry to emphasize on a very important message. It says that if we
need to just move past the situation, it can be done very briskly without heeding attention to the
details. Whilst, in order to completely comprehend the essence and graveness of a situation, we
need to involve ourselves completely into it. We need an eye for focussing on the crux of a situation.

The next scene shows enactment a young couple which is tormented as their child suffers due to
extreme pollution levels. It shows how the next generation is affected by swaying from the idea of
sustainable development. It focuses on the idea – “Protect our Earth today for our children’s
tomorrow “.

The next scene begins with a positive note showing a rural scene of NAMALUM GAANV , where all
the villagers talk about how they all have worked in unison to make their village a better place to
live in. It shows the euphoria of an idealistic village, with baba and chacha helping them throughout.

The very last scene introduces an engineer who addresses various problems of the village and
proposes the construction of a stop-dam to collect the rain water and use it to solve the problem of
water-crisis in the village.

The play ends on an optimistic note that no matter how humongous the task is, it can be achieved
with consistence, persistence, hard-work and dedication. It ends with a soulful hymn emphasizing
on how the mother earth can be protected with perseverant and conscious efforts from everyone.
