Latar Belakang: Penyakit akibat parasit usus masih merupakan penyakit endemik yang dapat
ditemukan di berbagai tempat di Indonesia dan menyebabkan masalah kesehatan masyarakat,
khususnya pada anak. Infeksi parasit usus dapat mengganggu tumbuh kembang anak dan
mempengaruhi kualitas hidup. Tujuan: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi
infeksi parasit usus pada anak di kampung Pasar Keputran Utara Surabaya, yang merupakan
kampung di pinggir sungai dan mayoritas penduduknya adalah pendatang dari luar daerah
sehingga menyebabkan kepadatan penduduk dan lingkungan kumuh. Metode: Penelitian
observasional deskriptif ini menggunakan spesimen anal swab dengan metode scotch adhesive
tape swab dan spesimen tinja yang diperiksa secara mikroskopis di Laboratorium Parasitologi
Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Airlangga. Hasil: Hasil penelitian berdasarkan 25 sampel
pemeriksaan anal swab dan tinja, didapatkan 36 % terinfeksi parasit usus dengan rincian
Enterobiasis 28 %, Ascariasis 4% dan Hymenolepiasis 4%. Penderita parasit usus 62,5 % laki-laki
dan 37,5 % perempuan dengan rentang usia penderita 6-11 tahun. Kesimpulan: prevalensi
parasit usus pada anak di kampung Pasar Keputran Utara Surabaya cukup tinggi, yaitu 36%
terinfeksi cacing usus, dimana penderita laki-laki lebih tinggi daripada perempuan. Daerah padat Kata kunci:
