Conduct disorders are characterized by a
persistent and significant pattern of conduct in
which the basic rights of others are violated or
rules of society are not followed. The onset
occurs much before 18 years of age usually
even before puberty. The disorder is much
more(about 5 to 10 times) common in boys.

Psychotherapy is a type of counselling aimed at helping


the child learn to express & control anger in more
appropriate ways. A type of therapy called cognitive,
behavioural therapy aims to reshape the child’s
thinking(cognition) to improve problem solving skills,
anger management, moral reasoning skill & impulse
control.
Family Therapy

A specialized therapy technique called Parent


Management Technique(PMT) teaches parents way to
positively alter their child’s behaviour in the home. It
gives parental instruction to teach how to deal with the
child’s demands.

Conclusion

Conduct disorder is an untreatable condition. It is estimated that 2-16% of children in


U.S. Have conduct disorder. It is more common in boys than in girls. It most offenly
occurs in late children or the early teen years. Well it can be prevented by providing a
nursing, supportive and consistent home environment discipline. It will also help us to
reduce symptoms & prevent the episodes of disturbing behavior.
