Answer These Questions:-
1) Why was Tyapa sent on a recce?
Ans: Tyapa was send on a recce because the
narrator’s eldest aunt refused to relocate to a
house she had not seen before.
2) Describe what Tyapa saw when he
entered the house.
Ans: When tyapa entered the house he saw a
long hall. There was a mat made of dried
coconut shells on the floor. In the was there
were sofas, tables, mirrored rack, hangged
woods and unbrellas.
3) What did the guest do after having tea?
Ans: After having tea the guest opened his
briefcase and took out bundles of hundred-
rupee notes, which he laid it out on the mat to
dry.
4) Give evidence from the story that Tyapa
was a little suspicious of his guest.
Ans: Ans 4) Tyapa was a little bit curious about
the bundles of money but the Englishman
avoided talking about it.
5) How long did Tyapa stay on the house
before returning?
Ans: Tyapa stayed in the house for three whole
days before returning home.

Ans: The Englishman was old, rickety, and
had a small briefcase. He had hollow eyes, a
pale face and chattering teeth, on his
trousers were patches of moss and mud.

Ans: Tyapa slide past the Englishman
because Tyapa realized that the Englishman
was a ghost.

c)What does the phrase ‘tore down’ mean?


Ans: It means to move at a great speed.

d) What does Tyapa’s action tell us about


his state of mind?
Ans: Tyapa’s action tells us that he was
scared.
