Skill Training

During downtime you can now start to work on new skill

proficiencies. To become proficient in a new skill, you must
succeed on a number of Training Checks. For each Training
Check you make, you must spend a day of uninterrupted
downtime working on your new skill (or tool). These days do
not need to be completed consecutively and if a day of
training is interrupted, it doesn't count towards your number
of successes.
Training Checks
A Training Check always has a base DC of 15 and is made
with the ability modifier that correlates to the skill/tool you're
trying to learn. You can not benefit from bardic inspiration,
guidance or other abilities or spells that would modifiy your
roll. You can get advantage on a check by paying a trainer for
the day. Alternatively, another party member that has
proficiency in the skill/tool can give you advice before making
your check, in that case, add your party member's proficiency
bonus to the check.
You can only go so long before you feel exhausted after
training a skill/tool. After you have spent a number of days
making Training Checks equal to your proficiency bonus, you
need at least one day off from training.
Number of Successes
To gain proficiency in a new skill/tool you need to succeed on
a number of Training Checks equal to 30 - your Intelligence
modifier. After 15 successful checks you can add half your
proficiency bonus to any checks you make with the chosen
skill/tool. After succeeding on your last Training Check, you
add your proficiency bonus to any checks you make with the
chosen skill/tool.
Number of Skills
Nobody can be great at everything. Over the course of your
adventuring carreer you can gain additional skill and tool
proficiencies equal to the number of your starting class's
starting proficiencies. (e.g. Rogue = 4, Ranger = 3, Barbarian
= 2, Wizard = 2, etc.).
Per tier of play (Level 1-4, 5-10, 11-16, 17-20) you can't learn
more than one new skill or tool. You can learn one additional
skill or tool in a tier of play if you didn't learn one during the
last one.
You can not train for more than one skill at a time and when
you start training on a new skill, any progress made to
acquire a different skill proficiency is erased.
