Procedure
1. The given job is clamped in a carpentry vice and any two surfaces are planed
by Jack plane to get right angle.
2. Accuracy is checked by using try square.
3. Based on the planed surfaces, the markings are made on the two sides by
using marking gauge.
4. After marking, the work piece is planed such that it should have accurate
dimensions.
5. Finally, the required dimensions are once again checked with the use of
try square.

TEB - Halving or Middle Lap Joint
Procedur.
1. The glvenjob clamped in a carpentry vice and any two 1urface1 are planed
by Jack plane to get right angle.
2. Now the job ie cut into two then by marking and mortise gaugee,
the proper marking is done on the two portions hued on the planed eidee.
3. One half ie taken ueing tenon saw and firmer chisel, the unwanted
portions are removed as per the marking. using marking gauge.
4. The other half is chipped in euch a way so as to rigidly fit an to the other
work piece by using firmer chisel, paring chisel and tenon saw, etc.
5. Now, the two pieces are assembled to check properfitting.
6. Finally, the accuracy and proper dimensions are verified, by using steel rule
and trysquare.

Procedure
1. The given work piece is clamped in the carpentry vice and two adjacent faces
are planed to get right angles, using machine planer.
2. The work piece is cut into two halves UBing rip saw.
3. With the finished face as reference the required size is marked on the work.piece,
by means of steel rule and marking gauge.
4. In one half of the work.piece, the unnecessary portions are removed, using
mitre saw and firmer chisel.
5. Similarly, the unwanted portions are removed in the other halfofthe workpiece,
UBing circular saw and firmer chisel.
6. Now, the two pieces are assembled to check proper fitting.
7. Finally, the accuracy and proper dimensions are verified, by using steel rule
and try square.

Procedure
1. The given job is fixed in the vice and any two surfaces are planed to get
right angle using jack plane. The accuracy is checked by using Try square.
2. The job is cut into two halves, then by using marking and mortise gauges,
the proper marking is done on the two portions based on the planed sides. the

3. In one portion, a T shaped lock is cut using firmer chisel and mortise chisel
as per the marking.
4. The other portions, a rectangular hole of the .given dimensions is made and
the unwanted portions are removed using chisel to get mortise and tenon

and trJ square.
