Netscape Navigator is a web

browser, the first commercial
product of the Netscape
Communications company created
by Marc Andreessen when he was
at the National Center for
Supercomputing Applications at
the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. Netscape was
the first commercial browser.
Netscape Communications
Corporation is a software
company famous for being the
creator of the Netscape Navigator
web browser. Created by Marc
Andreessen and purchased by AOL
in 1999, this was one of the first
internet browsers released for free
for non-commercial users, this
browser became the most used in
its time because it provided an
easy and affordable way in which
users can surf the net freely. As
this browser grew, Microsoft,
seeing its success, launched
Internet Explore (IE) and a doctor
that these browsers passed over
time added new features until
Internet Explore regained all its
ground.

This browser was born in 1994

since then it was called "Mosaic",
in a short time and many people
had "Mosaic" although shortly
after they changed it to Netscape,
installed on their computer this
was famous in its time and was
easily distributed since the
browser was gratuitous. It grew
from having 3 employees in April
1994, to having 100 in the same
year, this browser had a variety of
tools as it included mail programs,
on any computer that could have
access to the internet this was
always available for use in case
that it was installed. But Microsoft
was left behind as it was planning
a strategy to make up lost ground

This was announced on July 14,

2003 that it was going to
withdraw all staff based on
Netscape Mozilla, combined with
an agreement between AOL and
Microsoft to use a version of
Internet Explorer in more updated
versions, the company AOL
canceled the support for Netscape
as of March 1, 2008, in short that
by then it would stop producing
security patches or new updates.
