Remedy User 7.6.

04 for OPAS v2 - Installation and Configuration Instructions

Updated July 2017

Compatible Operating Systems - Windows 7, 8, and 10 32-bit or 64-bit

Note - Installation requires Local Administrator Rights (which can be obtained in Dell’s Software Center if applicable)

1. Download RemedyUser7604.zip from http://opas.ps.net to your local machine


2. Extract RemedyUser7604.zip to a local folder (i.e. Right click RemedyUser7604.zip, select “Extract All”, then “C:\Temp”)

3. Windows 8 and Windows 10 users only - Open the local folder, open “Disk1\InstData\VM”, right click on “setup” (or
“setup.exe”), select Properties > Compatibility, then enable Compatibility Mode for “Windows 7”
4. Open the local folder, open “Disk1”, and right click on “setup” (or “setup.cmd”), and select “Run as administrator”

5. A User Account Control window appears, click Yes

6. Installation continues…

7. A Windows Security Alert appears, select “Allow Access”


8. The BMC Remedy Action Request System 7.6.04 SP5 Installer window appears, click “Next”

9. Read the License Agreement, select “I agree…”, and click “Next”


10. Select a folder to install Remedy User
11. Select the feature to install. Remedy User is required, the remaining features are optional for all users. Click “Next”.
12. Select optional languages if needed, click “Next”.
13. Confirm options are as expected in the Installation Preview window, and click “Install”
14. Installation continues

15. The Installation Summary is displayed, click “Done”

16. Run Remedy User by selecting Start > All Programs > Action Request System > BMC Remedy User

17. The login window appears. Enter your OPAS v2 User Name and Password, click “Options” and enter set Preference Server =
“pscars01.ps.net” and TCP Port = “22000”. Click “OK” to log in to OPAS v2.
