Activity 3:

1. Communication Skills

A good first aider needs to be able to ask appropriate questions about signs and

symptoms. Assessing the situation properly will help the patient and avoid much

more danger.

2. Confidence

It is important to have confidence, all the steps needed to execute first aid must

be in your head. You need to be confident in the skills and techniques learnt

during training and be able to apply these to a real world emergency situation.
3. Ability to work under pressure

First aiders may be called upon to make decisions or act in emergency

situations. Therefore the ability to work under pressure is critical. First aiders
