Some people regard video games as harmless fun, or even as a useful

educational tool. Others, however, believe that videos game are having an
adverse effect on the people who play them. In your opinion, do the
drawbacks of video games outweigh the benefits?
In today’s world, video games are becoming much more popular than ever
before. While I accept that video games could impact its user in a negative way,
I believe that they are more likely have positive effect.
On the one hand, playing video games could lead users to waste their time. Due
to its highly addictive features, many people spend a huge amount of time
sitting in front of screen and playing games. They immerse themselves into
virtual world without thinking about their wasted precious time should be used
to advance themselves. Therefore, this leaves them little time for other
activities such as study and work, which negatively affects their productivity
and career path.
However, I would argue that these drawbacks are outweighed by the benefits.
People playing computer games have the opportunity to learn a wide range of
skills and abilities. For instance, role-playing games and graphic adventure
games force their players to evaluate their option faster and make tough choices,
which helps develop better decision-making and problem-solving skills. These
essential skills will prepare them for future difficulties or challenges. Besides,
playing electronic games helps people make their fortune. In recent years,
playing game professionally has become a lucrative profession in Vietnam and
other countries worldwide. Thousands of people flock into the area to make
money from it, which not only meet their financial requirement but also have a
chance to become affluent. For example, Độ Mixi, one of the most popular and
richest game players in Vietnam, could earn approximately USD 150.000 - 2.3
million annually, according to the estimates of Social Blade.
In conclusion, it seems to me that the benefits of video games are more
significant than the drawbacks.
