Result of Minimum revolution trial MIE control position : C/R Heavy fuel oil is to be used. A. Purpose Confirm the capable minimum revolution of main engine. B. Procedure 1) The main engine is to be run at the minimum possible rpm with all cylinders being used. 2) The rudder is to be moved to one side at maximum angle and confirm that the main engine does not stall. 3) And then, the ship is to run straight ahead as far as practicable. 4) Measure the M/E revolution and reference data C. Purpose Confirm that main engine revolution is increased smoothly from ahead “PULL” to ahead MCR in accordance with predetermined program. 2.
