A DEDICATION TO SUZAN PYPER
My grandmother was the one who introduced me to the world of
flowers, gardening, and pressing. If it were not for her and her
daughters, this site would not be in existance! But more than that, I
treasure the time that I got to spend with my grandmother, whether
it was learning to press or just sitting in her garden with a nice
glass of ice tea. Therefore, this is a shout out to Suzan Pyper; while
she may no longer be with us, she preserved a little bit of herself in
every flower she planted or pressed.

A BIT ABOUT THE PRESSING PROCESS
Flower pressing is a process that came about in the Victorian era,
and has been pretty popular since. The technical process pretty
simple; place a flower inbetween two absorbent piece of paper, and
then somehow seal the flower “sandwich” between two heavy
forces, keeping the flower from light and moisture. This results in a
very flat, dry flower which can then be used for many things, most
often crafts or formal arrangements.
