LUMION WORKSHOP - SOA

A 4 day online Lumion software workshop was organized by the school of architecture, ITM University,
Gwalior

It was coordinated and conducted by Ar. sonal singh and Ar. Amaan Anwari was the guest faculty for
teaching the students about the software. Lumion is 3D rendering software made especially for
architects. Its used for bring the 3d models of building to life by reimagining, visualization and
rendering them. The basic model from sketchup can be made to realistic scenes through this software.

60 Students from Architecture, Art and Interior background joined the workshop. Day 1 was about
various types of materials available in the software which they can apply in the buildings, followed by
Day 2 where Ar. Amaan told students the importance of Landscaping, its elements and how to play
with the site. Day 3 and Day 4 dealt with lighting, development of interiors and creating realistic
walkthroughs of their site. Each day at the end there was a Q&A session where students asked various
doubts in regards to various usage and techniques they can get from the Lumion software.

This workshop helped the students of Architecture and Interior design to create better visualizations
of their models and projects. It’s a life long learning. The workshop was very fruitful to the students
and the faculties as well. According to the students of Architecture, they are going to utilize the
learnings from this software in their upcoming design studios.
