Reflection on lesson planning

Review your plan using these questions:

Learning objectives:

- Are they SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound)? How can you improve
them?

- Do they directly reflect both the main and complementary Learning Standards for this lesson?

Planning for learning:

- How have you planned for pupil-centred learning?

- Have you planned pre-, during- and post-reading stages?

- What kind of support have you planned for less proficient pupils? In what other way(s) is your
lesson planned for your pupils in your class?

- What kind of formative assessment have you planned for?

- Do the reading strategies match the learning objectives of your lesson (e.g. reading for gist to gain
an understanding of the main idea)?

- How will you know if your lesson has achieved the learning objectives?

- After reflecting, what changes could you make to your lesson plan to improve it?
