- Art is very important from the pre-historic period to contemporary society because it should be
appreciated. Because all things that you can see from the pre-historic period to contemporary
society was molded through arts.

architecture expresses strength, solidity, and roundness. While gothic architecture represents
light, air, and sky.

- Renaissance paintings were usually about religion.

- Naturalistic handling of proportions, drapery, anatomy and perspective. 5.
What were given emphasis during the Golden Age of Greek sculpture?
- Graceful, strong and perfectly formed faces, capturing the idealized human body in motion. They
portrayed ideal beauty, not realism.

- The perfect proportions and confident expressions.

- Hagia Sophia is said to have “changed the history of architecture”. It served as inspiration for

achievement of man - that he can conquer, subdue, and control nature using these new materials.
It also symbolizes the technology, artistic flair, whimsy and look to the future of 19th century
