Week 4 Journal

Tuesday (6/1/2021): 7: 26 am - 4:00pm; 8 hours

Today I got in at 7:26 and submitted audits that I had done last friday before the long

weekend. At 8:15 I went down to my supervisor's office where she told me where to audit today.

She took me up to the 2nd floor where Mother Baby and Labor and Delivery(LND) are located

to introduce me and explain what I was doing to the different nursing stations. From 9am-

12:30pm I performed the Vericlean audits on Mother Baby and the LND OR. It was interesting

to audit an OR amnd to see what was missed. At 12:30 I went back to my desk where I ate lunch

while inputting some of the audits I had just done. At 1:00pm I went back up to Mother Baby

and LND to continue auditing until 4pm.

Wednesday (6/2/2021): 7: 29 am - 4:00pm; 8 hours

I got in and worked at my desk from 7:30-8:30 then went down to the Environmental

Services (EVS) offices and received more Vericlean glo germ. At 8:35am I went back up to

Mother Baby and LND to continue auditing to ensure we had enough data from the 2nd floor. I

also audited 3rd floor medical to get more data from there as well because we did not have

enough. I lost track of time and never ate lunch until I got back into my car to go home at 4pm.

Thursday (6/3/2021): 7: 25 am - 4:00pm; 8 hours

At 7:30am I met with my supervisor and talked about my project until 9am then she took

me up to ICU to introduce me and to let them know I would be auditing for ICU and 3rd floor

medical until 12:45. At 12:45 I went and had lunch and inputted the new audits I had just done

while I ate lunch. At 1:15 I went back up to the ICU and audited until 4pm.

Friday (6/4/2021): 7: 23 am - 4:00pm; 8 hours

 Today I got in at 7:23am and worked at my desk until 10:22 sending emails and getting

started filling out our A3 problem solving template. At 10:30 I laminated and cut out little cards

for my supervisor until 12pm and then went up to my office and had lunch while I continued to

fill out the A3 template. At 12:30pm I went to LND to see if I could get more audits done. I did

this until 4pm and then headed home.
