organization with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) and have been implementing
programs in Namibia since 2002.

PHN intends to fill the following vacancies on a short- term contract under PACT program.

POSITION: TEMPORARY COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER

Period of employment : Three (3) months

DUTY STATIONS AND NUMBER OF POSITIONS REQUIRED PER REGION

Kavango East and West x 10 ; Zambezi x 15; Erongo x 23, Khomas x 33;

Khomas x 33; Omaheke x 15, Oshana x 14. Oshikoto x 20; Omusati x 10, Ohangwena x10

Kunene x 18, Otjozondjupa x 17, Karas x 15, Haradap x 15

JOB SUMMARY

Community Health Workers will primarily be working in the community where they are residing to
educate the community about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the measures they should take
to reduce transmission. S/he will screen community members for coronavirus infections, trace close
contacts and link suspected cases to testing and care services. CHW's will work closely with
Community Leaders, Senior Community Health worker, under the MoHSS and other agencies to
improve community accessibility to available COVID-19 Services.

Minimum requirements:
• Completed at least grade 10, with D symbol in English

• Mature men and women, at least from 23 years of age
• Prior experience with Community Based Health Care ( CBHC), or other
volunteer experience is an advantage
• Living in, and from the specific community /villages where you will work and
speaks the local languages
• Must be a Namibian citizen
• Good English writing and communication skills
• Willingness to work with people, able to make home visits and is physically fit
• Respected in the community, and committed to community service
• Good organizational skills
