activities and recognize the areas of strength of the students.

These lesson plans help teachers structure and design learning processes that fit the
pupils. They are concisely written and based on the Most Essential Learning
Competencies (MELC) to focus on the most important skills and knowledge that the
learners need to have. Moreover, they include the learning competencies, objectives,
performance tasks, and outputs. They help me, the teacher, visualize how the
instruction will be carried out.

strategies

Annotation:

I use assessments like tests and exercises to gauge whether the students have attained
the objectives of the module or lesson. These help me monitor the improvement of the
students and plan on how to guide them further in their progress. These assessment
strategies also help me point out the topics that appear difficult for the learners.

PPST Strand: 4.5. Teaching and learning resources including ICT

Annotation:

Since we have transitioned to a different mode of learning due to the rise of the
pandemic, some lessons might be too difficult for the students to understand. Thus,
video lessons serve as supplementary materials that they can watch to further
comprehend the different topics. Through various webinars conducted by the
Department of Education and other institutions, I am slowly learning to develop
MELC-based video lectures that could aid pupils in studying.

Name of Artifact: Reflective Summary

PPST Strand: 7.4. Professional reflection and learning to improve practice

COVID-19 took us all by surprise, and I didn’t expect that so much will
change in our teaching and learning environment. At first, and until know, I still
worry about the education of the students. It has been really difficult for
teachers and learners to adapt to this new setup. Thus, this LDM2 course has
helped me be better prepared in teaching my students amidst the pandemic.

It is a real challenge to make sure that students learn all the important
things they need to know since we are employing distance learning. The LDM 2
course allowed me to learn with the students. It guided me in transitioning to
the new arrangement in education, and it equipped me with the basic skills I
need to perform my job as an educator.

Additionally, this portfolio allowed me to look back to the strategies we

employed and the intervention we utilized to track the progress of the learners.
It helped me assess areas that I can improve on, and it let me recognize what
helped both me and the students communicate well.

Adjustment comes from both ends. Students and teachers alike need to
make efforts to make this setup work. Indeed, it has been a real challenge for all
of us. Personally, I felt pressured since I am not really familiar with technology.
I feared that I might not be able to guide the students well, but through the help
of this course, I gradually learned adapting to the situation.

Annotation:

My reflective summary describes the challenges I faced in this distance

learning setup. It narrates how this course has helped me in preparing to
guide my students. This course has equipped me with the basic skills that I
need as an educator amidst the pandemic.
