Plotting Data Project

Problem 1: The scores for the final exam for all students in Mrs. Shay’s science class
are listed below:

Box Plot Generator - Given the following data set, use this box plot generator (link
embedded in the title) to create 2 box plots, one with outliers included, and the other
one with outliers removed. Take a screenshot of the original box plot, and also a
screenshot of the box plot once the outliers are removed. Then, compare the shape,
center, and spread of the data with the outliers removed.

Conclusion: After removing the outliers, the center of the data (median) increased from
79 to 81, while the spread decreased from 58 to 36. The shape of the distribution shifted
to the right.
Problem 2: A survey was taken from 15 people about how long they can hold their
breathe underwater. Their results are recorded below in minutes:

Conclusion: After removing the outliers, the center of the distribution (median)
decreased from 3 to 2 and the spread decreased from 9 to 3. The shape of the
distribution became more symmetric once the outliers were removed.
Problem 3: Local Southern California residents were asked about the number of times
they visited the beach during 2020. Their results were recorded below:

histogram, and also a screenshot of the histogram once the outliers are removed. Then,
compare the shape, center, and spread of the data with the outliers removed.
