The satisfaction and euphoria that accompany the successful completion of any task would be
incomplete without the mention of people who made it possible. "Success is the abstract of hard
work and perseverance, but steadfast of all is encouraging guidance". Therefore, I acknowledge all
those whose guidance and encouragement served as the beacon light and crowned the effort with
success.
My sincere thanks to Dr. B SADASHIVE GOWDA, Principal, Vidyavardhaka College of
Engineering, Mysuru and Dr. G V NAVEEN PRAKASH, HOD, Department of Mechanical
Engineering, VVCE, Mysuru for permitting me to carry out this internship successfully.
My hearty thanks to my internship guide Mr. BHANUPRAKASH M J, assistant Professor,
Department of Mechanical engineering, for his valuable suggestions and for his inspiring and
motivating guidance. He has been the driving force behind this work.
Last but not the least I would like to thank my Parents and Friends for their moral support during
critical phases of my work.
With Regards,

INTRODUCTION
Artificial Intelligence is an approach to make a computer, a robot, or a product to think how smart
human think. AI is a study of how human brain think, learn, decide and work, when it tries to
solve problems. And finally, this study outputs intelligent software systems. The aim of AI is to
improve computer functions which are related to human knowledge, for example, reasoning,
learning, and problem-solving.
Reasoning processes: This aspect of AI programming focuses on choosing the right algorithm
to reach a desired outcome.
HISTORY OF AI
• The idea of AI goes as far back as ancient Greece. Greek myths speak of Hephaestus, a
blacksmith who created mechanical servants.
Fast forward to 1935, when the earliest substantial work in the field was done by Alan tuning,
a logician & computer pioneer.
• Turing machine:
1951: Christopher Strachey who wrote the first successful AI program
FOUNDATION OF AI
• The field was founded on the claim that human intelligence “can be so
precisely describe that machine can be made to simulate it”.
• This raises the philosophical arguments about the nature of mind and ethics of
creating artificial being featured with human-like intelligence.
• Issues which have been explored by myths fiction & philosophy since the
ages.
• AI will increase economic growth by an average of 1.7% across 16 industries by 2035 with
Information and Communication, manufacturing and financial services leading all industries.
• According to the report, “AI has applications and use cases in almost every industry
vertical and is considered the next big technological shift, similar to past shifts like the
industrial revolution, the computer age, and the smartphone revolution.” Even ignoring
that bit of hyperbole, a good case can be made that artificial intelligence certainly has the
potential to upend a lot of industries, government activities and consumer behavior. In its
report, Tactica identifies 27 verticals that are employing AI technologies today or soon
will be. These include financial services, healthcare, defense, consumer retail,
advertising, and media & entertainment, among others.
• In terms of revenue, the top use case of the 191 they identified is algorithmic trading.
Here the investment banks and hedge fund firms are already using AI algorithms to drive
their portfolio strategies. The researchers estimate -- conservatively they say -- that by
2025 roughly half of investment assets will be traded via AI.

INFORMATION
• Half of the century has passed, and AI has turned into an important field which
influences on our daily lives.
OVERVIEW
• In addition to giving us a novel outlook on information technology in general, this
broader view of AI also offers unexpected perspectives into how to think about
ourselves and the world around us.
I & OVERVIEW
APPLICATION
• Automobile industry
• Travel
• Agriculture industry
• Medical treatment
• Video games
• Smart house’s
• Surveillance
• Social networking
• Personalized online shopping
• Customer service
• Space exploration.
AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY
• These cars have AI monitoring or sensors predicting and preventing any dangers
or problems in a vehicle
FIGURE-4
• Apart from improving customer service, they are now using to determine the pricing of
different location
• AI in Travel & Tourism is being used to predict travel choices, personalize services,
complete booking & manage in-trip & post-trip needs.
FIGURE-5
AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY
• This is one of the latest AI applications, this has also shown significant impact on
industry
• AI has been helping farmers by collecting & analysing farm data like soil health.
• With increased demand for food, organizations are using automation & robotics
technology with AI embedded in it
• Artificial Intelligence in agriculture not only helping farmers to automate their farming
but also shifts to precise cultivation for higher crop yield and better quality while using
fewer resources.
FIGURE-6
MEDICAL TREATMENT
FIGURE-7
• In a very short time, the AI industry has completely changed the way we interact with
business and leisure.
• One arena that has been the most affected, however, is the social media landscape.
FIGURE-8
ADVANTAGES OF AI
ERROR DETECTION:
• Artificial intelligence helps in reducing the error and chance of reaching the
accuracy with a greater degree of precision is a possibility.
• It is applied in various studies.
• AI would have a low error rate compared to humans, if coded properly.
• They would have incredible precision, accuracy, & speed.
• Hey won’t be affected by hostile environment
DIFFICULT EXPLORATION:
• AI and the science of robotics can be put to use in mining & other fuel exploration
processes.
• Can detect fraud in card-based systems, probably other systems in future.
• Organizes & manages records.
• They can think logically without emotions, making rational decisions with less or no
mistakes.
• They interact with humans for entertainment or a task as avatar or robots.
1. An example of this is AI for playing many video-games
2. Robotic pets can interact with humans.
DISADVANTAGES OF AI
HIGH COST:
• This requires a huge cost for the creation of AI as they are very complex machines.
• Their repair and maintenance require huge cost.
• They have software programs which should be frequently in up-to-date as the need
of machines to be smarter by the day.
• Can cost a lot of money 7 time to build, rebuild, & repair.
• Storage is expensive, but access & retrieval, may lead to connections in memory as
well as humans could.
