Now days, online gaming is very popular among all communities. Online
gaming captures the entire world very effectively. There are different
games, like PUBG, Ludo star, Snooker and Free Fire as well etc. But
among these games PUBG is very popular. This online game attracts the
people of every field and age as well.

Q no: o1
Explain the history of PUBG?
PUBG or Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds needs no introduction. These days it is the most
famous mobile game that is being played. It happens with most successful stories as the
journey to the peak wasn’t that simple. Behind this amazing game, most people don’t even
know the name of the man. We are going to know how PUBG originated and who created it.
The guy behind PUBG is 33 years old Brendan Greene. He belongs to Ireland and has
worked as a photographer and web developer in Brazil before becoming an internet sensation
with this game. After working for a short period of time in Brazil, he decided to switch back
to his country and in 2013 and got interested in Day which was a mod of open world military
simulator “Aram 2”. This made him create a mod of his own for days’ which was inspired by
“Battle Royale”, a Japanese movie. He replaced the Zombies with people against whom the
gamer has to fight to survive. Brendan learned to code while creating his mod and it was the
time when very first version of PUBG was created. It became popular very quickly as days’
was already a favorite of gamers. Soon, his work attention of Sony Entertainment and they
hired Brendan as a consultant for designing the Battle Royale mod for H1Z1. Interestingly,
when the work got completed, Brendan’s mod was endorsed as a separate game: “H1Z1:
King of the Kill”.
In 2015, South Korean studio Bluehole Ginno games contacted Brendan. He became their
creative director and started working on a new game in 2016. The South Korean studio
wanted to take advantage of the fact that Battle Royale genre was not much popular in the
country at that time, so they wanted to be the first to come up with it. PUBG was released in
2017 and has become a part of our life.
This is another example that shows that there is nothing like an overnight success. If
someone achieves big, most of the times, there is a story full of failures. Even if someone
manages to reach the top without those difficulties, maintaining success becomes an issue.
As PUBG is banned in India, gamers have already started to look for its alternative and
though it’s a big shock but into the long run this can bring a lot of new opportunities to the
games making companies in India.

Q no: 02
where is the origin of PUBG?
PUBG Corporation is an online game developer based in Seoul, South Korea. It is the
company behind Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), a multiplayer online battle
royal game. The company is a subsidiary of Korean publisher Blue hole.
The publication of PUBG can be traced back to Blue hole Studio, a South Korean gaming
company. Blue hole Studio (now named as Crafton Game Union) was the holding company
of PUBG Corporation who developed and published PUBG.
Brendan Greene was the man behind the game PUBG. After getting inspired after watching
a Japanese movie Battle Royale, he decided to develop this game. You can be assured of this
as his online handle is Player Unknown which inspired the name Player Unknown’s
Battlegrounds (PUBG). Brendan Greene was born in Ireland. PUBG Mobile gradually
released worldwide in 2018 and took the market by storm. So, PUBG Mobile players will
indeed be heartbroken to know that their favorite mobile game’s origin can be traced back to
China. However, the origination of the video game PUBG cannot be traced back to China as
it was in existence way before Ten cent Games came into the picture.

Q no: 03
calculate its revenue from its origin to January 2021?
An analysis firm claims US$2.7billion in revenue was generated in 2020 alone PUBG has
reportedly generated over US$5billion in revenue since it first launched in 2018. Analysis
firm Sensor Tower shared the news on March 25. Sensor Tower says the popular battle
mobile game has generated over US$5.1billion in revenue through player spending.

Data shared by Sensor Tower PUBG Mobile and its Chinese version Game For Peace, the
game generated an average of $7.4million per day from player spending alone last year,
totalling to $2.7billion in revenue in 2020. The first three quarters of 2020 saw an average
revenue of $704million per quarter, while the fourth quarter generated $555million.

PUBG Mobile Revenue and Usage Statistics (2021)

The success of PUBG and Fortnight spawned an entire industry of battle royal games, some
of which came with interesting new ideas, but far more blatantly attempting to copy the
successful formula of the two most well-known franchises.
Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) launched in December 2017, although it had spent
almost an entire year in Steam’s Early Access. Throughout the year, the team fine-tuned the
PUBG experience, and it debuted on Xbox and PlayStation in early 2018.
Due to Ten cent’s involvement in PUBG, as an investor in the developer Blue hole, it
managed to pass China’s censors. That has come back to bite the organization however, as
India recently banned PUBG Mobile in the country, due to its connections to Ten cent
Games.
PUBG Mobile was already starting to ascend in 2019, but with the coronavirus pandemic, the
game has skyrocketed in both downloads and revenue. In March 2020 when the world went
into its first lockdown, PUBG Mobile made $270 million a month in revenue.
