2. Objectives
a. General objectives:
i. To increase the knowledge of the students.
ii. To enable students to read English with correct pronunciation.
iii. To enable the students to enjoy English reading and writing.
b. Specific Objectives:
After reading this unit the students will be able to:
i. Develop an understanding of healthy diet.
ii. Have a concept of healthy life style.

5) Previous Knowledge testing (brainstorming) (Time: 5 minutes)
i. What are the different ingredients of food?
ii. What type of food is important for human body?
iii. What type of food make us healthy?
6) Announcement of the topic: (Time: 5 minutes)
The teacher will announce the topic after testing previous knowledge of students,
teacher will announce the topic today we are going to learn about “Health is Wealth”
7) Presentation:(Time: 10 minutes)
The teacher will ask the students to open their books. Teacher starts reading and
translates sentences into Urdu for students understanding. “Health is Wealth” is an old
saying. Human life is a gift of Allah. It is like a machine. No inventor or mechanic can make
such a perfect and take good care. The rules of health are: proper kind of food, exercise,
cleanliness, fresh air, clean water and proper span of sleep.
Proteins are required for making flesh and repairing tissues. Sugar and starch are
carbohydrates. Common sources of carbohydrates are cereals, fruits, potatoes, and sugar.
They provide heat and energy to the body.
Calcium is important for development and maintenance of bones and teeth, neuromuscular
function and heart function.
The benefits of being physically fit include:

 Being healthier
 Increased chances of living longer
 Reducing the chances of depression
 Having stronger muscles and bones
 Achieving or maintaining a healthy weight
8) Activity: (Time: 10 minutes)
Teacher will be divided students into two groups.
Group 1:
Write down the name of main sources of proteins?
Group 2:
Write down the name of major sources of calcium in our diet?
9) Recapitalization: (Time: 5 minutes)
i. What are the laws of health?
ii. What are the sources of proteins and carbohydrates?
iii. What are the different ingredients of food?
10) Home Task: (Time: 5 minutes)
Teacher will ask students to write the difficult words and meanings of this chapter
“Health is wealth” on your not books.
