3 Results and discussion

The flexural behavior of the control, damaged,


and repaired beams was evaluated by studying the
load–deflection diagrams, and their characteris-
tics, namely, the ultimate load capacity, corre-
sponding deflection, stiffness and toughness. The
load–deflection diagrams shown in Figs. 8–11

3.1 Effect of heat treatment
