yield bars at 100mm centres in each direction is supported by 300 x 300mm Reinforced
Concrete Columns,
The load from the slab on an internal column is 600kN.
In accordance with BS EN 1992 determine the shear reinforcement required assuming 8mm
diameter shear links with one vertical leg will be used.
Take fyk = 500 N/mm2.
The area of an 8mm bar = 50.3mm2 and
Concrete strength fck =25N/mm2
The average depth to the reinforcement can be assumed to be 200mm.
fck = 25N/mm2
β = 1.15
