2021 Annual NSChE Professional Awards

IMPORTANT  NOTICE

Please note that the following criteria must be used in selecting the best
Design/Research Project from your institution for the 2021 Annual
NSChE Professional Awards Competition.

Design/Research Project must:

1. Address  and or proffer solutions to  local problems.

2. Demonstrate clear application of Chemical Engineering


principles.

3. Demonstrate  the Commercial Competitiveness of the intended 


products.

 1. Annual Research Contest for Final Year (HND) Chemical Engineering


Students In Nigerian Polytechnics

Heads of Chemical Engineering Departments in the nation’s Polytechnics are invited


to put in place machinery to present the best student research project of their most
recent graduating (HND) class that meets the above criteria for assessment.

The Research Project Report Entries must be accompanied by a separate Summary


Report formatted as follows:

1. Introduction

2. Objective

3. Justification

4. Methodology

5. Result

6. Discussions (stating clearly major achievements)

7. Bibliography

Note: The summary is expected to be between 3 and 10 type-written pages (single


spaced on A4 paper).
The prizes are N 100, 000.00 and a plaque for the best entry; N 75,000 and a plaque
for second best; and N50,000.00 (and a plaque) for the third best entry.

Checklist for entry:

·         Three (3) hard copies of the Project Report

·         Three (3) hard copies of Project Summary

·         A soft copy of the Report Summary and Complete Report (on CD or Flash
drive)

2. Annual Design Contest for Final Year Chemical Engineering Students in


Nigerian Universities

Heads of Chemical Engineering Departments in the nation’s Universities are invited

3. Process Design/Selection

4. Materials and Energy balance

5. Equipment Design/Sizing

6. Piping/Instrumentation

7. Mechanical Design

8. Plant location

9. Plant/Site Layout

10. Economic Analysis

11. Safety

12. Recommendations

Note: The summary is expected to be between 3 and 10 type-written pages (single


spaced on A4 paper).

NOTE: The final assessment for all the Awards would be done by a team selected
from Academia and Industry. The Prizes will be given at the upcoming 51st Annual
Conference/Golden Jubilee celebration of NSChE taking place at Federal Palace
Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos from 10th to 13th November 2021..
