Critique on Government’s policy of providing autonomy to Financial institution

Me: Hi Ahmad, good to see you back in office (bank) after holidays.
Ahmad: Farrukh, although I am back in office but half-hearted.

Me: What happened Ahmad? Why are you so disappointed?

Ahmad: Just look at it brother, I don’t know what is the intention of the incumbent government by
giving autonomy to State bank of Pakistan.

Me: Ahmad, won’t it give stability to our crumbling economy and stop the abrupt inflation rate?
Ahmad: Farrukh, although the major aim is to give stability but it suites the developed economies, not
the developing ones.

Me: But what is the problem if such autonomy is given to such an institution in a developing country like
ours?
Ahmad: Developing economies have to adjust their financial resources in matters which require urgent
attention just like government’s policy of financially helping people in covid-19.

Me: Oh! ok Ahmad, so it means that State Bank won’t be helpful in such cases which requires abrupt
shifting of financial resources.
Ahmad: Yes, that’s my point. Moreover, after this, State Bank won’t be4 accountable to any institution
as well.

Me: Your points are quite logical, and are thought provoking.
